2026 Day of Service Recap
On a rainy Saturday, May 23, 2026, the Fairport VFW organized a cemetery clean-up day at South Perinton Cemetery in the Town of Perinton. Around 100 volunteers showed up in the rain to spread soil, repair broken headstones and clean hundreds, if not all 1,000+ headstones.
To everyone who came out for the event, thank you! It was a little clunky at first, but being our first year doing this, we expected that. We learned a lot from putting this event on and will be taking that knowledge with us into the future for the next four years and the remaining seven cemeteries in Fairport/Perinton.
